About this position
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. The position provides leadership and management direction for financial and regulatory reporting. The Manager also develops and maintains accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements for North Memorial Health (NMH). In addition, the position addresses deadlines and a wide range of accounting activities including general ledger maintenance and interfaces, leads the month-end close process, coordinates audits, provides financial education for NMH and is responsible for the development and leadership of staff. They provide guidance with the annual budget and forecasting process. They Manager ensures accuracy and integrity of management financial information. They also collaborate with business leaders to support strategic initiatives. Finally, they assure the provision of accounting information systems and documentation requirements.
Requirements
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. • Master's degree in business or accounting or CPA preferred.
Experience
• Ten (10) years of accounting and financial operations experience required. • Three (3) years of management experience required. • Five (5) years of public accounting experience preferred. • Five (5) years of experience working in healthcare industry required. • Demonstrated leadership and management skills • Ability to be highly collaborative with departments and individuals outside of Accounting • Extensive knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of GAAP. • Prior experience and knowledge in the use of MS Office Suite. • Possess and apply fundamental accounting and financial concepts necessary to analyze financial position of the organization. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Demonstrate the ability to relate well with all customers and peers • Remain current on all financial regulations and standards. • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines. • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, organizational, communication, negotiating, problem solving skills, performance improvement, and tax compliance/reporting skills. • Has system development experience.
