About this position
Provides high performance technical expertise, focused and specialized in life support measures, code response, and the care and diagnosis of both acute and chronic pulmonary disorders. Respiratory Therapists also provide a cross-divisional resource for clinical support and education in the Medical Center.
Provides for the administration of airway management, mechanical ventilator application and management, therapeutic respiratory care services, oxygen and aerosol therapy, limited diagnostic services, near-patient testing (NPT), CPR, customer transport, customer education, and other special services as provided in the department scope of services. These services may include newborn, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric customer groups, including acute and chronic care conditions.

• Graduate of an approved JRCRTE/COARC respiratory care program
Experience
Experience
· Prior experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner/Therapist and level 3 NICU experience preferred.
· New Graduate RT from an accredited Respiratory Therapist school will be considered.
· Ability to take initiative, be self-motivated and an independent, accountable, dependable performer.
· Effective planning, time management, organizational and detail-oriented skills.
· Solid PC skills to include electronic medical record, MS applications, internet, etc.
· Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information (both in written and oral form), clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience.
· Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict in a positive manner. Has an awareness of, responds to, and considers the needs, feelings and capabilities of others.
· Ability to be accountable for quality customer service and respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively, organize and prioritize assignments, make decisions, and exercise good judgment • Current RCP scope of practice at North Memorial for non-specific assignment.
Licensure/Certification
· Current Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RT) issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Team member must meet all annual requirements for renewal including mandated CEUs.
· Must be currently certified as a BLS provider.
· Must attain and maintain ACLS and PALS provider status within 3 months of employment.
· Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 2 months of hire date.
· Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
· Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) must be obtained within one year of hire date.

Salary Range: Respiratory & RRT Therapists ($39.61 - $56.00), based on experience
