Cardiologist (Non-Invasive)

Robbinsdale, MN

About this position

The Cardiologist examines and treats customers with cardiovascular disorders and diseases. Performs medical procedures to help with diagnosis or treatment consistent with training and medical staff privileging for cardiology. Consults with customers and their families to determine the appropriate course of treatment, and recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition.

The Cardiologist will perform general cardiology duties as assigned in support of the Blaze cardiology group, including but not limited to: cardiology call coverage, responding to emergent cardiac cases (as appropriate), inpatient rounding, clinic services, outreach services, reading cardiac imaging, and other responsibilities consistent with training and medical staff privileging.

• TIMELINESS IN PERFORMING CLINICAL DUTIES: Arrive on time for scheduled clinical duties and be available as required by on-call protocols.
• COMMUNICATION: Provide timely communications to referring physicians consistent witBlaze Health cardiology group practice standards.
• COOPERATION WIT BLAZE HEALTH: Participate in Blaze Health administrative and operational activities as requested.
• DOCUMENTATION: Complete clinical documentation in a timely, comprehensive manner and communicate outcomes verbally and/or in writing.
• PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT: Maintain clinical expertise and knowledge through participation in continuing medical education.
• KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER: Share development of new knowledge and advances in medical care with colleagues as appropriate.
• TIME AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (PRODUCTIVITY): Use time effectively to achieve expected productivity and efficiency; demonstrate ability to prioritize workload; use supplies and other resources (e.g., equipment, computer systems, tools, energy) efficiently and effectively.
• CONFIDENTIALITY: Maintains customer and appropriate organizational confidentiality.
• ATTENDANCE: Be consistently present and punctual, and meet hospital standards. Provides proper advance notification for absence or tardiness.
• PROTOCOLS AND POLICIES: Demonstrates understanding of hospital-wide and department-specific policies and protocols.
• Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.
• The team member is accountable to demonstrate proficiency for the skills outlined in the appropriate position skills list.

Education

• Medical Doctorate (MD) degree from an accredited school required
• Completion of an approved internal medicine residency program
• Completion of an approved cardiology fellowship program   

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

• As appropriate to the business need of the department. • Must complete credentialing & privileging requirements upon hire.
• Ability to remain or become awake and alert during on-call hours which include non-clinic hours, nights, and weekends.
• Ability to answer customer and family concerns and provide medical advice by telephone to the ambulatory population when necessary.      

Licensure/Certification(s) Mandatory

• Board eligible or certified in Cardiolog- BH Standard
• Current State of Minnesota Medical Doctor license
• Valid DEA Registration
• Current medical staff credentials in Specialty
• Current State of Wisconsin Medical Doctor license
