About this position

Provides treatment to infant, adolescent, adult, geriatric customers and families who come to the Urgent Care Center. In addition, the Physician acts as a team leader/member of the treatment team,
ensures the delivery of quality care and maintains professional competence.

 

What we’ll expect from you

• Provides assessment using skills and cognitive abilities.
• Collects subjective information (history) through customer and family interviews, review of appropriate records, and discussion with customer's personal physician as indicated.
• Performs appropriate physical examination. Evaluates and interprets assessment data and identifies appropriate treatment needs.
• Establishes priorities of identified needs.
• Orders appropriate diagnostic studies for identified problems and selects appropriate treatment plan.
• Reviews and documents customer's progress, follows customer's response related to interventions/expected outcomes, and revises plans as appropriate with consideration of customer response.
• Informs customers and families of needs for treatment and assures appropriate consents are obtained as needed and appropriate.
• Performs appropriate procedures.
• Participates in QA activities as requested.
• Completes documentation and communicates outcomes verbally and/or in writing.
• Records assessment (history and physical), interventions, evaluations, and customer response to treatment.
• Ensures appropriate disposition of customers.
• Maintains clinical expertise and knowledge through participation in continuing medical education.
• Shares development of new knowledge and advances in medical care as appropriate.
• Uses time effectively to achieve expected productivity and efficiency
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload.
• Uses supplies and other resources efficiently and effectively
• Participates in and supportBlaze Health's Continuous Quality Improvement practices.
• Suports co-workers who are involved in, and/or participates in, work groups within Customer Care Services and/or across divisional teams.
• Participates in and supports quality improvement activities throughout the organization.
• Promptly shares reliable and complete information with others who need it.
• Demonstrates efffective communication methods and skills and use of appropriate lines of authority.
• Demonstrates attention to others by using active listening skills, e.g., questioning for clarification, paraphrasing, eye contact, etc.
• Attends or is responsible for information given at meetings and through other organizational channels.
• Keeps current by using staff communication system.
• Maintains customer and appropriate organizational confidentiality.
• Is consistently present and punctual, and meets hospital standards.
• Provides proper advance notification for absence or tardiness.
• Demonstrates understanding oclinic-wide and department-specific policies and protocols.
• Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.
• The team member is accountable to demonstrate proficiency for the skills outlined in the appropriate position skills list.
• The team member is accountable to maintain skill proficiency, including improvement where deemed necessary, and upgrading any additional or new skills on the appropriate position skills list. • Recognizes and complies with legal, regulatory, accrediting and procedural requirements related to area of responsibility.
• Understands and follows principles and standards as outlined in North Memorial's Corporate Code of Conduct.
• Protects customer and team member privacy and only accesses customer and/or team member related information as needed to perform job duties.
• Reports violations or areas of concern to supervisor or Corporate Compliance Officer via established methods of communication.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Medical or Osteopathic School
• G2 or beyond in residency training.   

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

• Urgent Care clinic experience preferred • Excellent clinical skills and competence in area of specialty.
• Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting in providing the highest quality of care to customers and their families.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Understanding oclinic-wide and department-specific policies and protocols.      

Licensure/Certification(s) Mandatory

• Board certified or Board eligible in area of specialty
- State Requirement
• Current State of Minnesota Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy license
- State Requirement
• Valid DEA Registration
- State Requirement
• Current medical staff credentials for level of training
- BH Standard
